MCRH supports every woman's right to a safe, legal abortion in a strictly confidential setting. We are licensed by the State of Tennessee as an ambulatory surgical treatment center. Our abortion providers are medical doctors licensed by the State of Tennessee. Our skilled and compassionate staff of doctors, nurses, patient educators, lab technicians, and administrators supports each woman while she is in our facility before, during, and after her procedure.
We perform abortions from 5 to 14 weeks following a woman's last normal menstrual period (LNMP), and offer both surgical abortion and medication abortion. See below for more information on each option.

Surgical Abortion
The surgical abortion option uses a method called aspiration, also commonly known as a vacuum or manual aspiration. For this option, your pregnancy must be between 6 weeks and 14 weeks based on the dating ultrasound performed in our clinic. This fee includes:
- All lab work, including routine HIV testing**
- Ultrasound for gestational dating only
- Patient education session
- Pre-procedure medicines
- Surgical abortion procedure
- Post-procedure medicines
- Prescription for birth control
- 24-hour emergency contact
- Post-abortion follow-up 2 to 6 weeks after the procedure

RhoGAM Injection $25.00
Private Surgical Abortion Procedure (6.0-11.6 LNMP) $850.00
Private Surgical Abortion Procedure (12.0-14.6 LNMP) $900.00
Private appointments can be arranged outside the normal clinic schedule at a time convenient for both patient and physician. Patient waiting time is substantially reduced (patients are typically in and out of the office within an hour’s time), and the individualized appointment schedule helps to assure patient privacy.
This fee includes:
- All of the items included in the surgical abortion procedure, and
- An appointment outside of the regular clinic schedule.

Medication Abortion
The medication abortion option uses a medicine known as mifepristone, commonly known as RU-486 or the abortion pill. For this option, your pregnancy must be between 6 weeks and 9 weeks pregnant based on the dating ultrasound performed in our clinic. The ultrasound usually corresponds with the time since your last normal menstrual period.
Some of the medicines used in the medication abortion may cause serious birth defects if the pregnancy continues. In the unlikely case that the medication does not work, you will need to have a surgical abortion to end the pregnancy. Click here to use the Pregnancy Calculator
Medication Abortion Procedure (5.0 - 9.0 LNMP) $500.00
This fee includes:
- All lab work, including routine HIV testing**
- Ultrasound for gestational dating only
- Patient education session
- Pre-procedure medicines
- Medication abortion pills and all accompanying medicines
- Prescription for birth control
- Follow-up call with a medical clinician 24 hours after procedure
- 24-hour emergency contact
- Post-abortion follow-up 10 to 14 days after the procedure

**MCRH offers rapid HIV testing as a routine test for all of our patients in accordance with the CDC's Recommendations for HIV Testing which advise routine HIV screening of adults, adolescents, and pregnant women in health care settings in the United States. People who are infected with HIV but not aware of it are not able to take advantage of the therapies that can keep them healthy and extend their lives, nor do they have the knowledge to protect their sex or drug-use partners from becoming infected. Knowing whether one is positive or negative for HIV has great benefits in healthy decision making.
